Wroxham 5K: Everything you need to know

Get set for another exciting evening of racing at the Wroxham 5K, hosted by Norwich Road Runners on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

Here’s your essential guide to the event:

Venue and parking

  • Race HQ: Broadland High Ormiston Academy, Tunstead Road, Hoveton, NR12 8QN
  • Parking: There is no parking at race HQ. Please use Roy’s of Wroxham Coach Park (Belaugh Road, What3Words: ///merely.emulating.lyricist).
  • The coach park is a short 5-minute walk from race HQ and will close at 9pm, so plan your visit accordingly.

Key timings

  • Race HQ opens: 17:30
  • Number collection closes: 18:30
  • Junior race (approximately 1 mile, free entry): 18:30 (on the school field)
  • Main race start: 19:00

Registration and race numbers

  • Race numbers are to be collected at HQ.
  • Arrive in good time and write your medical details on the reverse of your number.
  • Pin your number clearly to the front of your running kit.
  • Do not fold or obscure your number in any way.

Facilities

  • Male and female toilets are available at the Academy.
  • Additional portable toilets will be located in the car park.

Refreshments

  • On-site food vendors include:
    • Fish & Chip van
    • Ice Cream van

Bag drop

  • There will be no manned bag drop at this event.
  • An unmanned gazebo at HQ will be available for storing belongings at your own risk.

Race Rules

  • The wearing of headphones is strictly prohibited, including bone-conduction types.
  • The course will be fully marshalled and clearly signed.
  • The race is held under UKA rules (permit #29495).
  • Course measurement certified (certificate #19/234).

Prizes

  • Awards for the top 3 overall male and female finishers.
  • Prizes also awarded to the first finisher in each age category, including:
    • Juniors, and every five-year age band from 40 to 70+
  • Prizes must be collected on the day. Unclaimed prizes will not be posted.

Water and hydration

  • Water will be available before and after the race at HQ.
  • Recyclable cups will be provided, but runners are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles to help reduce waste.

Medical Support

  • Medical assistance will be provided by MedPTS.
  • All runners must fill in emergency contact and medical details on the reverse of their race bib.

Junior Race

  • A fun, free junior race around the school field starts at 18:30.
  • All junior runners will receive a medal at the finish.
