Lotus 5k/10K: Everything you need to know

Get ready for an exciting evening of racing at the iconic Lotus test track. Whether you’re tackling the 5K or going for the full 10K in the Sportlink 10K Series, here’s your essential race day guide.

Getting there

Approach via the B1135, travelling:

  • East from the A11/Wymondham
  • West from the B1113 (Mulbarton, Bracon Ash)

Look for the “Lotus Cars” signpost at the southern end of Potash Lane and follow the signs to the entrance.


Arrival and parking

  • Gates open at 17:00
  • Do not arrive early or park on the narrow section of Potash Lane
  • Follow marshal directions to the main car park
  • Spectator restriction: Only those arriving in the same vehicle as a participant will be allowed entry. Others will be turned away.

Race number collection

Race numbers will be collected at the pedestrian exit of the car park:

  • 5K – Blue Gazebo
  • 10K – Red Gazebo

Important: access restrictions

Only those with a race number or accompanying a runner will be allowed beyond the car park.
If supporters arrive separately, they will be denied access. No dogs will be allowed on site.


Course Overview

  • 2.5km looped circuit on the Lotus test track
  • Count your laps carefully:
    • 5K = 2 laps
    • 10K = 4 laps

Timetable

  • 17:00 – Gates, registration and food open
  • 18:45 – 5K registration closes
  • 18:50 – 10K registration closes
  • 18:55 – 5K race briefing
  • 19:00 – 5K race start and 10K race briefing
  • 19:05 – 10K race start
  • Prizes awarded as soon as possible after the race

Movement on Site

  • Stay on marked paths and walkways
  • Be alert when crossing roads or walkways

In case of emergency

  • Fill out medical/emergency details on the back of your bib
  • Pens and tables available at the Harling AC gazebo

Bag and key drop

  • Collect a label from Harling AC gazebo
  • Attach with your race number
  • Drop at the clubhouse (portacabin)
  • Bib required to collect items

Photography

  • No photography permitted while walking around the Lotus site
  • Photos allowed only on the track
  • Official event photographers will be capturing moments
  • Speak to the Race Director before the race if you do not wish to be photographed

Hydration and heat

  • Forecast: 21–24ºC – stay hydrated
  • Water station every 2.5km and at the finish
  • Bring your own water for pre-race hydration

Post-race refreshments available from:

  • The Walking Wok – Southeast Asian cuisine
  • Lavender Lattes – Coffee, hot drinks, cakes

Prizes and age grading

  • Overall top 3 (Open & Female) based on Gun Time
  • Top 3 Age-Graded (M/F) awarded
  • Team competition uses Age Grade %
    • Team = best 3 average Age Grade scores
    • Deadline for team entries: Wednesday, June 19 at 20:00

Final Reminders

  • No general public access
  • Follow all signage and marshals
  • Respect the venue – no unauthorised photography
