Logan Smith and Grace Buchanan took top honours at this morning’s Holt 10K, as more than 400 runners enjoyed the unique mix of road and trail on one of Norfolk’s most scenic racing routes.

Hosted by North Norfolk Beach Runners, the race started and finished in the prestigious grounds of Gresham School and marked the halfway point of the Sportlink 10K Series.

City of Norwich AC athlete Logan Smith was first across the line, clocking a commanding time of 32:40 to extend his strong run of local form. Smith, who recently set a new personal best as part of the elite field at the London Marathon, pulled clear of Norwich Road Runners’ Martyn Bath, who finished second in 33:05. Nathan Stockdale of Ryston Runners rounded out the podium with a solid run of 34:49.

In the women’s race, Grace Buchanan (North Norfolk Beach Runners) followed up her recent win at Aylsham with another brilliant performance, taking the women’s title in 39:03 on home turf.

She was followed by Louise McDonnell of Wymondham AC, who claimed second in 40:46, and Claire Stroud, who secured third place in 41:18.

The Holt 10K has become a popular fixture on the Norfolk running calendar.

With the series heating up, attention now turns to the Humpty Dumpty 10K, the next stop in the Sportlink 10K Series, which promises another fast, competitive field and plenty more local running drama.
