Aylsham 10K: Everything you need to know

The Aylsham 10K takes place this Sunday, May 4, and it’s shaping up to be another fantastic edition of this popular event hosted by Aylsham Runners.

Whether it’s your first time or you’re chasing a PB, here’s your essential race day guide.


1. Race Day Timings

  • Registration opens: 7:30am
  • Registration closes: 8:45am
  • Race start: 9:00am

2. Location & parking

  • Race HQ: St Michael’s C of E VA Primary & Nursery School, School House Lane, Aylsham, NR11 6EX

  • Parking: Scout Field (opens 7:15am) – no parking at Race HQ except for wheelchair users

    Allow at least 15 minutes to walk to Race HQ from the car park.

3. Race number collection

  • Numbers must be collected on the day from Race HQ.
  • Fill out medical info on the back before running.
  • Attach securely to the front of your top with safety pins.
  • You must not run without your official number – no number, no time.

4. Prohibited items

  • Headphones of any kind, including bone-conducting models, are not allowed.
  • Running with buggies or dogs is strictly prohibited.
  • Race number transfers are not permitted under UKA rules.

5. Course overview

  • One-lap, anti-clockwise loop on closed roads.
  • Scenic, undulating country lanes.
  • Water station at approximately 5.5K.
  • Wide, fast start and finish on Blickling Road.
  • Runners should exit the finish area promptly via the signed route.

6. Bag drop

  • A bag drop is available at Race HQ.
  • Use the baggage label attached to your number.
  • Bags will only be returned with evidence of your race number.

8. Medals & prizes

  • All finishers receive a medal.
  • Trophies awarded to:
    • First male and female
    • Age category winners
  • Prize presentation expected around 10:30am.

9. First aid & support

  • First aid cover will be present throughout the event.
  • If unwell, alert the nearest marshal immediately.
