Breckland 10K: Everything you need to know

The Breckland 10K returns on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5, 2025, hosted by Thetford Athletic Club and forming part of the Sportlink 10K Series.

Whether you’re racing for points or simply enjoying a fast, rural 10K, here’s everything you need to know.


1. Where and when

  • Location: The Street, Croxton, Thetford, Norfolk IP24 1LN
  • Race Start: 10:30am
  • Date: Monday, May 5, 2025
  • Parking opens: 9:00am – a five-minute walk from Race HQ

2. Parking and arrival

  • Use postcode IP24 1LN or What3Words for navigation.
  • Parking is in a field – not suitable for low-suspension vehicles.
  • Please follow signs and marshal instructions on arrival.

3. Race registration

  • Open from 9:00am to 10:15am
  • Collect your race number on the day. Complete the emergency info on the back and pin it to the front of your top.
  • You must not fold or cut your number – and don’t forget it, or you won’t get a time.

4. Safety first – no headphones

  • Headphones, earbuds, and bone conductors are not allowed.
  • This is for your safety on open roads. If seen using them, you will be disqualified and removed from the official results.

5. What to wear

  • This is a road race. Road running shoes are recommended.
  • Trail shoes are not suitable.
  • Check the weather forecast and dress appropriately for before, during and after the race.

6. Start info

  • Race briefing will take place at 10:20am behind Croxton Village Hall.
  • Do not enter the road until marshals instruct you to do so.
  • The road will remain open to traffic, and ignoring instructions could result in disqualification.

7. Course Overview

  • One-lap course through quiet countryside lanes.
  • Kilometres clearly marked.
  • Water station at 6K, sponges at 8K, and more water at the finish.
  • Please remain alert to traffic and local access vehicles.

8. The Finish Line

  • You’ll collect a medal at the finish.
  • Water will be available – please reuse your bottle.
  • Full results will be published at www.totalracetiming.co.uk by early evening.
  • Prize presentation is at 12:15pm behind the village hall.

9. Facilities

  • Toilets open at 9:00am at Race HQ.
  • No changing facilities – please come ready to run.
  • A café will be open from 9:00am serving snacks, bacon rolls and hot/cold drinks. Cash only.
  • There will be an unattended baggage tent – items left at your own risk.

10. Medical Support

  • Qualified medical personnel on course and at the finish.
  • AEDs positioned throughout the course.
  • If assistance is needed, alert the nearest marshal.

11. Family Fun

  • A kids’ fun run will take place behind Race HQ during the event – a great way to keep younger supporters entertained – just £4 per child.
