The Sportlink 10K Series kicks off at the Wymondham New Year’s Day 10K.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the event…
1. The Course
Set on undulating and quiet rural roads, the race offers a delightful journey through the beautiful outskirts of Wymondham. Both the start and finish lines are located on Lady’s Lane (What3words: scarf.sandwich.gobblers).
2. Event Details
- Date: Wednesday, 1st January 2025
- Start Time: 10:00 am

- Entry Fee: £18 (affiliated) / £20 (unaffiliated)

3. Number Collection
Race numbers can be collected from Race HQ, which opens at 7:45 am. Make sure to allow enough time for this before heading to the start line.
4. Parking
Ample parking is available nearby, with directions provided on the Wymondham AC Races Facebook page and their website (www.wymondhamac.com). Arrive early to secure your spot and avoid last-minute stress.

5. No Bag Drop
Unfortunately, there will be no bag drop facility, so plan accordingly. Only bring items you’ll carry during the race, and leave valuables securely in your vehicle.
6. Headphones Policy
For safety reasons, headphones and earbuds (including bone-conduction devices) are strictly prohibited. Failure to comply will result in disqualification, so stay alert and listen for instructions from marshals and officials.

7. Water and Refreshments
- A single water station is available just after the 5K mark.
- At the finish line, runners will receive water and a snack.
- Tea, coffee, and delicious cakes will be served at Race HQ. Cakes are available for a donation to Little Lifts, the event’s chosen charity. Cash only!
8. Toilet Facilities
While there’s no access to toilets at Central Hall this year, portable toilets will be provided in the car park behind the hall. Additional public toilets are located at the Market Street Car Park.
9. Prizes and Medals
All runners will receive an attractive bespoke medal upon finishing the race. Prizes for various age categories will be awarded on race day, with full results published later.
10. Support and Atmosphere
The event is known for its enthusiastic marshals and fantastic community support. Plus, the added bonus of post-run refreshments and cake promises a celebratory atmosphere to start the year on a high note.
