The final race in the Sportlink 10K Series, the East Coast 10K, returns to Great Yarmouth this Sunday, November 2, with a record-breaking field set to take to the start line.

Organised by Great Yarmouth Road Runners, this popular race offers a flat, traffic-free course and a fantastic atmosphere on the seafront – but with big numbers comes the need for everyone’s cooperation to help the event run smoothly.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of race day.

Race Details

Date: Sunday, November 2, 2025
Start time: 10:00am (race briefing shortly before)
Start location: Landau Track, outside Anchor Gardens (2-minute walk north from HQ)
Race HQ: Sports Hall (on the right as you enter), Marina Centre, Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2ER

HQ opens at 8:30am for number collection. Changing facilities and refreshments are available in the Marina Centre, just two minutes’ walk from the start and finish line.

Parking

Street parking along Marine Parade and North Drive is free in November. Please avoid disabled, bus, or taxi bays.
Nearby paid car parks include:

  • North Drive Car Park (NR30 1ED) – 4 min walk, largest option
  • Euston Road Car Park (NR30 1ED) – 3 min walk
  • Jetty North/South (NR30 3BF) – 3 min walk

Anchor Gardens Car Park is restricted to emergency and permit holders only.

Toilets

Toilets are available at Race HQ, but to help reduce queues, runners are encouraged to use nearby public toilets:

  • Jetty South Car Park (2 mins south of HQ)
  • Tower Toilets (3 mins north of HQ, closest to the start)
All will be signposted on the day.

Baggage

A manned baggage area will be available inside the hall, but items are left at your own risk.
Lockers are also available in the Marina Centre for a small fee.

Headphone policy

Under UKA race licence rules, no headphones or earphones (including bone-conduction) are permitted.
The course includes sections on shared paths used by pedestrians and cyclists – wearing headphones could lead to disqualification from the results.

The course

A flat, fast, traffic-free 10K route beginning and ending near the Marina Centre.

  • The race starts on the Landau Track at Anchor Gardens.
  • It features 1.5 loops of the seafront route.
  • A water station will be available as runners pass the start line again (around 4 miles).
  • Water and mementos will be provided at the finish.

Please keep moving through the finish funnel to allow space for other runners.

Spectators

The Marina Centre café offers an ideal viewing point overlooking the beach, where runners will pass twice.
There are also several cafés open along both sides of the seafront for refreshments during and after the race.

Presentations

Prize presentations will take place inside the Marina Centre hall once results are finalised.
Awards include:

  • Overall race winners
  • Age category prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
  • Male and female team prizes

Community Support

Rather than a charity donation this year, the organisers will host a foodbank collection point at Race HQ to help local families this Christmas.

Please consider bringing any of the following items:
Tinned meats, vegetables or fruit, sauces, biscuits, tea, coffee, long-life milk, squash, rice pudding, custard, jam, crisps, or toiletries.

Last year, over 600 items were donated – with 1,200 runners expected this year, organisers hope to surpass 1,000 items.

Final Notes

  • Please arrive early to collect your number and allow time to find parking.
  • Listen carefully to all marshal instructions.
  • Stay hydrated, enjoy the route, and help make this record-breaking East Coast 10K another standout day for Norfolk running.
