The 2025 Sportlink Grand Prix Series came to a fitting finale at the Bure Valley 10 Mile, with Martyn Bath (Norwich Road Runners) and Mabel Beckett (City of Norwich AC) taking the honours.

Bath capped an excellent season by winning in a new personal best of 53:32 in the Bure Valley Harriers event, adding another victory to his earlier success this year at the Flying 5K.

“I was really happy with how it went,” Bath told Sportlink TV. “I had a nice group for four miles and then I tried to kick on from there to see if they would come with me but from then on I was on my own.

“The last two miles really hurt as you come up the hill. I wasn’t quite prepared for that, so I was quite grateful they weren’t around towards the end as it would have been a tough battle if I was with Senior.

“It’s a PB today by about a minute so I’m happy with that.”

Bath was followed home by James Senior (City of Norwich AC) in 54:21, with George Gay third in 54:47.

In the women’s race, Beckett continued her impressive season with victory in 59:40 – her second win of the 2025 Grand Prix Series after success at the Worstead 5M.

“It was really good,” said Beckett. “I found mile nine really hard – I think it was a bit of a hill. Other than that I felt quite good and I really enjoyed it.

“I did Run Norwich and Round Norfolk but I think I’ve got a few weeks off now. I’m going to do the Norwich Half in a few weeks though.”

Grace Buchanan (North Norfolk Beach Runners) was second in 1:02:49, with Becky Hills third in 1:05:28.
