Aylsham 10K: Everything you need to know

The Aylsham 10K takes centre stage this weekend as Race 6 in the Sportlink Grand Prix Series.

Hosted by Aylsham Runners, the race has once again proved hugely popular and is now officially sold out.

Here’s everything runners need to know ahead of race day.

1. Race HQ and location

  • Race HQ: Drill Hall, 11 Cawston Road, Aylsham
  • Please note there is no parking at Race HQ

2. Key race morning timings

  • Car park opens: 07:15
  • Registration opens: 07:30
  • Registration closes: 08:45

Runners are advised to arrive early to allow enough time for:

  • Parking
  • Walking to Race HQ
  • Collecting race numbers

The walk from parking to Race HQ is approximately 15 minutes.

3. Parking information

Parking is available at the Scout Field, with signage in place on race morning.

There is separate nearby parking for wheelchair users.

Please follow all marshal instructions and signage.

4. Race numbers

  • Collect from Race HQ unless already posted
  • Numbers must be worn to receive a result
  • Please complete medical details on the back before racing

5. Bag drop and facilities

A bag drop will be available at Race HQ.

  • Use the baggage label attached to your number
  • Bags are left at your own risk
  • Your race number will be required for collection

Facilities include:

  • Limited toilets at Race HQ
  • Public toilets in Market Place (around five minutes away)
  • Refreshments available at HQ

6. The course

The race features:

  • Closed roads between 08:30 and 12:30
  • An undulating anti-clockwise route through country lanes
  • Start and finish on Blickling Road

There will be:

  • Marshals approximately every half mile
  • A water station at around 5.5km

At the finish, runners are asked to move through promptly before returning to Race HQ for medals and refreshments.

7. Race rules

The organisers have reminded runners that:

  • No headphones of any kind are permitted (including bone conduction)
  • No buggies or dogs are allowed

Failure to comply could result in disqualification.

8. Hydration and cut-off

  • Water available at 5.5km and the finish
  • Please use bins and avoid littering

The race has a 2.5-hour cut-off time.

9. Medals and prizes

  • Medal for all finishers
  • Trophies for first male and female plus age categories
  • Presentations expected from around 10:30am

10. Brooks and Sportlink at the event

Brooks will be supporting the event alongside Sportlink.

Sportlink will have a stall inside Race HQ selling a range of running gear and accessories.

Brooks will also be giving away:

  • One on-the-spot prize of a pair of running shoes on race day
  • Another pair of Brooks trainers in the upcoming Sportlink TV highlights package

To be in with a chance of winning through the highlights video, runners will need to answer a question in the YouTube comments section after the race.
